Again Jesus refers to himself as the bread of life and then he gives an even better promise;"all that the Father gives me shall come to me, and whoever comes to me I shall not turn away." This piece of writing is full of God's promises and tells of his love. Jesus even tells us His Father's will, that Jesus shall raise up all on the last day everything that the Father has given to Jesus and that it is the Father's will that nothing of what he gives to Jesus shall be lost. Why do we not take these words seriously? Why do we live life as if we did not care or as if we had no hope? These promises should fill us with joy yet we live a mediocre life of not too happy, not too sad. An old Irish priest once wrote, "Our faith should be for us a source of great joy...." Are the promises of Jesus a source of great joy for you? Or for me?
