Reading I: Exodus 3:13-20
Responsorial: Psalm 105:1 and 5, 8-9, 24-25, 26-27
Gospel: Matthew 11:28-30
Of all the promises Jesus made in his life these words have to be the most beautiful. "Come to me all you who labour and are heavily burdened...." All of us carry so much hurt and pain. Sometimes these things just wear us down. Jesus says to come to him and he shall give us rest. Leave all things with him, at the foot of the cross and allow him to do his work. "Learn from me for I am meek and humble of heart.." This is the only time Jesus says to learn from him. Look at the way he lives, imitate it and be free. When life brings us down, when there seems to be no way out, look to Jesus and learn from his example. It may be difficult at first but it is worth keeping at it and trying.
