A long gospel today which is really about trusting in God's providence. But the opening sentence sets the tone of the whole piece; "No man can be a slave to two masters....you cannot be the slave of both God and money."
Jesus calls on us to make a choice: are we to follow him or are we to be of the world? Once we choose then all makes sense. If we choose the world then money, power and sex shall be our gods. If we choose Jesus then he asks us to believe and to trust in divine providence. Divine providence is the belief that God shall put in our way whatever we need to follow him, just at the right moment and in the right place. But before we try to trust in providence we have to make our choice!
