Today's Catholic Daily Readings: Luke 9:46-50
There are some very human stories in the gospels and this is one of them. The disciples were arguing among themselves who was the greatest, who was the most important. They were so concerned with worldly things that they failed to see the glory that was in their midst. This carried on right up until the very end, when Jesus died on the cross. Seeking power, prestige and wealth is so typical of us. To a greater or lessor degree, every one of us is involved in this. Jesus sees through all the nonsense....."for the least among you all, that is the one who is great." When we take a back seat we allow God to be God; unfortunately we all like to be the driver. Hopefully some day we shall learn!!
