Reading I: Deuteronomy 10:12-22
Responsorial: Psalm 147:12-13, 14-15, 19-20
Gospel: Matthew 17:22-27
In these days of economic turmoil, Jesus shows Peter that he is in control of everything. He knows all there is and can provide for everything. Peter had the faith to go and do what the Lord told him. As we have moved away from God and took more and more "worldly" decisions, following greed and prestige - people and society are losing hope and direction. Perhaps we should come back to some kind of sound principles, the first of which is listening to God, in order to try and be secure in our lives.
