Think of what is going on in this passage; Jesus is praying for us to the Father. Such a concept, God praying to God, is unthinkable when looked at from human eyes. With the eyes of faith and the openess of a child, we can accept that this is true. No person of the world could accept this. It is so utterly unthinkable in human terms. "Holy Father, keep those you have given me true to your name....protect them from the evil one....conseccrate them in truth....and for their sake I consecrate myself so that they may be consecrated in truth." Jesus asking the Father to care for us...how can the Father refuse? This is what we are part of, the loving union of the Father and the Son. This is the dignity of the human person. And soon Jesus will send his Spirit to cement this union. What a faith we belong too!
