Reading I: Deuteronomy 31:1-8
Responsorial: Deuteronomy 32:3-4ab, 7, 8, 9 and 12
Gospel: Matthew 18:1-5, 10, 12-14
God is ever new, always surprising and as we battle with so many worries and concerns here on earth he is in heaven, always surprising, always refreshing and always caring. Children don't worry; they don't fret and they forgive freely. Life is an adventure to them, and they know that no matter what, things will somehow work out.
The kingdom belongs to those who can have the same simple trust in God. Building that trust and wonder is hard work and risky to us. But we should try to cultivate it.
