John 6:35-40 Gospel Reflection: "And whoever comes to me I shall not turn him away." Jesus is telling the Jews of his mission as saviour and his desire that all men be saved. And he goes on to say that it is never the Father's will that anyone shall be lost. Jesus so desires that no one be lost that first he gives his life and then he gives his body for us to eat so that we have spiritual food. This is how Jesus is with us "to the end of time," in the Eucharist in Holy Communion. At the end of today's gospel Jesus says that whoever believes all this shall have eternal life and that the believer shall be raised on the last day to resurrected glory. What a promise!
