Easter is the major feast of the Church, it is the pinnacle of all feasts and the Resurrection is the central teaching of our faith.
An old priest once said at a talk I attended, "if you want to know if the resurrection ever happened you need just two words as proof; Peter and Paul."
The effect of the resurrection on these two men, one of whom denied Jesus and the other who persecuted the early church, is ample proof of the effect of the risen Lord on people.
The resurrection is the victory of Jesus over death. It is the promise to us of everlasting life and it is the great gift of Jesus to the world. The Mass every day this week is just a continuation of the Easter Sunday Mass we just experienced. It is as if the church decided that one day was not enough to celebrate this feast.
And so it should be for Jesus is risen and in him we shall never die.
