After yesterday's gospel when Herod was pondering Jesus, in today's gospel, Jesus asks the apostles who people say the Son of Man is. They give a couple of answers, Elijah, a prophet and then Jesus asks directly, who do you say that I am?
This is the central question of the gospels for the new believers of the early church and for us. It is a question we have to answer every day in many ways; by our response to the poor, our attending to our duties and the love we show to our families.
We answer this question in so many ways. Do we truly believe that Jesus was the Son of God? This answer will takes us to the next; do we believe in the resurrection?
