Jesus is enjoying a time of success and adulation. His disciples have been on a successful mission and have returned full of hope and joy.
In life things often go well for us. The tide was soon to turn against Jesus, but for now things were good.
The people see Jesus as a great miracle worker, fulfilling all their hopes. He is as yet no threat to anyone.
How much of our life reflects that. We meet a partner, all is good but as soon as they cannot fulfill our expectation we become disillusioned.
When all is going well and we are doing fine at work, all is good. What happens when the young pretender goes for a job that we want, or even worse, seeks our job?
Soon the Pharisees would see Jesus as a threat...and all changes.
How do we react when people don't fulfill our expectations or threaten our livelihood?
Would we have been any different?
