Gospel Reading: Luke 11: 14-23
Today’s Gospel reading is about casting out of devils and who is the power behind it. A lovely phrase is said by Jesus – “if it is through the finger of God that I cast out devils, then know that the kingdom of God has overtaken you”. Wow...such a small finger and it has the power to overtake one’s self, for even the devils had to do what Jesus commanded. But today’s Gospel also makes me realize that there will be times when things happen to me for which I am unprepared, will be at a loss of power and no ability to help myself --- what to do? Pray ... “Jesus, help me”. is your Lenten penance becoming a burden, you feel like you want to give in? – ....pray “Jesus, help me” and feel the warmth of Grace enter into your soul.
