READING I: James 3:13-18
RESPONSORIAL: Psalms 19:8, 9, 10, 15
GOSPEL: Mark 9:14-29

Each of us who are reading this have some sort of relationship with Jesus. It may be we are here today by chance or that we are reading the scriptures regularly and browse the net to see what is said about today's readings. Either way, we have a relationship with Jesus and in our heart we know it could be better. But we have the worries of the world. I have a full days work ahead of me now, I have friends and relatives who are sick, and I have all the usual stuff that goes with married life and children. Into the middle of this I have to bring my relationship with Jesus....and sometimes it is under a bit of stress. So I keep asking, "Lord increase my faith." Then I try to go on in trust, asking God for help as I struggle along.
Some days it works, some days I fail, but I keep trying. And over the years it has gotten easier. Maybe I'm making progress but I have a long way to go. Every day of our lives, up 'til we take that last breath, we can say,"Lord I believe, help my unbelief."
