Gospel of Matthew 21:31-46 Reflection:
Our priest said an interesting thing at Mass this morning; during the Friday's of Lent we are given a premonition of Good Friday in the gospels.
This is definitely the case today. Jesus relates the parable of the land owner who rents out his vineyard to tenants and when he sends his men to collect the rent they are beaten, not paid and some killed.
Finally he sends his son. The tenants beat and kill him.
When Jesus points out to the chief priests and elders that he is talking about them they want to take him and arrest him there on the spot.
It is not hard to see the connection between these readings and Good Friday. As they say in acting parlance, the plot thickens!
We await developments............
