Gospel of John 10:31-42 Reflection:
The Jews fetched stones to stone Jesus. This is their reaction to his claim to be God. But can you really blame them? We have had 2000 years of theology and understanding to come to see that Jesus is God and still most of the world does not accept it.
Jesus issues the same challenge to the Jews as he does to us. "If you do not believe me believe the work that I do."
Who created the universe, who made love and joy and happiness? The delight of life is nonsense if you believe that this is all there is. Love is meaningless if it is not in the soul.
The biggest proof that Jesus is God is the change that takes place in our lives when we accept that he is Lord. This becomes our own personal experience and there is no arguing with our experience.
While the proofs of Jesus may have changed in these 2000 years their effects have not; freedom, hope, charity etc. And most of all the joy of life.
