READING I: Ezekiel 18:21-28
RESPONSORIAL: Psalms 130:1-2, 3-4, 5-7a, 7bc-8
GOSPEL: Matthew 5:20-26
Two pieces really hit me. The first about going to the altar when your brother has something against you. How often I have been going to communion and have seen someone in the church who rightly has a grudge against me.
The second is to be on good terms with your opponent before you get to court and try to settle the dispute amiably. This is about getting rid of sins as they come up and remembering always that we shall have to give an account of all to the God who shall be our judge. It tells me to face my sin now rather than wait til the bitter end! All good sound advice from the Lord.
